Went to a seminar on the Mac OS X in the afternoon. That was fun and interesting - if you want, read my summary. Comments welcome.
Jobhunt
Still nothing - the one place that I was talking to over the last few days now decided not to hire a full-time employer after all, but rather to outsource the programming job. Rats. Me requiring an H1B visa does not facilitate the job-hunt.
On another note, I might be doing a short (20-40 hour) PHP/MySQL job over the next few weeks, which, at least, bring in some cash and gives me something to do.

Music
Refilled my CD changer:
* The Fugees - dug out the old The Score. Not too shabby. Doesn't rock my world, but not bad at all.
* Handsome - !!
* The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation. Fun.
* The Deftones - their latest (White Pony), as good as the others.
* Public Enemy - Muse Sick N Hour Mess Age. Yo! :)
Movies
Billy Elliot - soso to ok. Entertaining in parts, good enough for a rental, but not that exciting. Easy movie.

Went to the TechXNY this morning. I'm amazed at how people are willing to stand in long, long lines just to write down their address and information (so they get Spam) just for a remote chance of winning a mouse-pad. All in all a very very big exhibit. Palm's huge - listened to the keynote address given by Palm's CEO, which was basically an extended sales pitch. Not very exciting.
Also read through the SiliconValley Roundtable discussion on Open Source. The first 30 or so posts make an interesting read, and I'm glad that RMS did not attend after all.
Code
Not much, just some minor clean-up and bug-fixing on bday. *shrug*
Movies
Saw Almost Famous the other day. Very good. Nice, clean fun.
Music
I like Depeche Mode's Exciter.

I'm completely amazed at how easy Tcl/Tk is. Wow. Now if only somebody could tell me how I can create a window without any borders, frames etc?
Compiled gcc-3.0 and toyed with some Qt-3.0 snapshot stuff over the last couple of days. Very neat, something to keep me busy.
Unemployment
This is getting more and more annoying. Sad to see I'm not alone, judging from other Advogato's who look/have been laid off etc.

Went to Boston over the weekend. First time I've been there. Very cute, very pretty, very white. Preppy, too. In parts, it's so cute it makes you puke. While I liked it as a town to visit, I don't think I'd want to live there. I actually even liked DC better. Oh well, back in the city...
Geek
Over the last few days, I've been compiling Qt-2.3.0 and Qt-3.0 (snapshot) by hand, then compiling KDE (in it's entirety) by hand as well. Currently am trying to make KDevelop work with the Qt-3.0 snapshot, with limited success.

17:25Job Hunt (substitute for "Life" for the moment)
Went to the TechExpo in the WTC. One of these gatherings where many suits stand in long lines to talk to some recruiter (HR people! blargs!) who will then put their resume on a huge pile, supposedly caring about your future career. A waste of time.
Work
After writing a shell-script to let other people replicate the web-site through the browser I'm now back to HTML validation. There's a shit-lot of work to be done with respect to valid HTML, but hey, it gives me something to do.
Music* Nas - pick an album, any album. Nas rules. Todays album: It was written
* De La Soul - similar.
