Parental Math

As the father of a four year old and a two months old and having worked from home for the last 3.5 years, I feel I've gotten quite accustomed to context switching. Still, I believe to have observed the following:

Optimistic average time in between disruptions: ⌈15 min⌉
Optimistic average time it takes me to get back into a state that remotely resembles concentration on what I was working on: ⌊10 min⌋

Of these 10 minutes, approximately 8.5 are wasted on twitter and dicking around with this or that on the intertubes.

That is, it looks to me like I mostly work in 5 minute chunks. It's a miracle I get anything done. Oh, wait, I don't...
